New Apartment Block - Coronation Road, London

Having spent many years trying to devise a scheme to replace the existing, low quality premises, the client approached us with severely lowered expectations, and was considering selling off the land rather than developing it. We felt confident that more than two houses could be achieved from the site, even though the site was in a two storey housing area. Through in-depth analysis and careful design we were able to argue away the previously imposed council requirement for car parking, which freed up a lot of extra space on the site, and we also produced daylight modelling reports on the proposed building’s impact to the street and neighbours. We ultimately managed to justify a four storey block of flats. The client was elated as profitability now made the scheme viable, and we are proud of the improvement that this high quality building will make to the neighbourhood.

Client Testimonial

“Myself and my previous architect had been advised by the planning department that any new building would need to be maximum two storeys tall, as it was surrounded by two storey houses. This meant a maximum of two very small houses, and it made replacing the existing building unviable. We felt stuck. We were recommended to Humphreys and Sons and they managed to gain planning permission for a magnificent four storey apartment block, which wildly exceeded our expectations. We are still not quite sure how they managed to do this, but thank you again!”
