Internal Alterations - Rosebery Avenue, Clerkenwell EC1

Internal alterations and refurbishment to this prestigious listed building, located within Clerkenwell conservation area. In some situations, what appear to be quite minor alterations to a building can actually require a significant amount of legal consents and approval of design work, before the works can legally be carried out. In the case of this project, removal of a hallway wall within an apartment required our client to obtain Freeholder Consent (as our client was a leaseholder), planning permission/listed building consent (as the building was listed), and building regulations approval (as the removal of the wall had an impact on the fire strategy for the building). All of these permissions required formal applications, drawings and specifications, and site inspections by the relevant approving bodies. Humphreys and Sons carried out all of the necessary work and successfully obtained all required permissions, allowing the work to legally be carried out. The end result for our client was a huge improvement to the space within the apartment, with the hallway removed and a modern, open plan layout achieved.

Client Testimonial

“Humphreys & Sons helped me gain freeholder consent and listed building consent etc. on my flat I was refurbishing. They were both friendly and efficient and gave me an outstanding service. I would highly recommend them.”
